Regular readers will notice that something has changed: I’ve made a new design for quanttype.
The previous design had been in use with minor modifications since 2015. I’ve felt for a while that it’s time to refresh it. There were two big changes I wanted to make:
- There should be a dark mode.
- The body font should be a
grotesquesans-serif.
I ended up with a dark design that I like, but I wasn’t able to come up with equally nice light design. Therefore the site only has a dark mode.
As before, the design is fairly simple. I hope you find it readable and easy on the eyes. The site now uses colors from the lovely Catppuccin Mocha palette. The font is Albert Sans.
While messing with everything, I also decided to change the post URL structure to remove the date from the path.
The post URLs used to look like /posts/2026-03-04-a-new-look-for-quanttype.html and now they look like /p/a-new-look-for-quanttype/.
I like the simpler URL. The publication date remains visible at the top of the post.
I’ve tried to set up 301 redirects for all the old URLs. The URIs weren’t cool enough to not change, but the old ones should still take you to the right place.
